In His Presence Church
Mel Ayres is the Founder and Senior Pastor of In His Presence Church located in, Woodland Hills, California. During Pastor Ayres 10 year pursuit of acting and his appearance on such shows as Day of Our Lives, Three’s Company, General Hospital and Falcon Crest, the Lord called him to full time ministry. He and his wife began serving as assistant pastors in their home church before pioneering Ayres of God Ministries in 1993 and In His Presence Church with its first Sunday service in 1995. Over the course of almost 20 years, the church has grown from its humble beginnings of 30 people to over 3,000 people weekly, and it continues to be a powerful, effective ministry, serving the city of Los Angeles, as well as the world through weekly Live Streaming and through the new IHP Church App.
Having been a part of the entertainment industry, Pastor Ayers has a unique call to minister to those in the performing arts. Many actors, directors, producers, dancers, and those in the music industry call In His Presence
Church their home.
In 2010, Pastor Ayres launched a business person’s ministry called, “Champions Net Worth” (CNW), which has enabled him to reach out to the surrounding business community, as well as the greater Los Angeles area. He believes that God is going to light a fire among the business people, and desires to show them that their net is not only about their portfolio, but about winning souls as well.
Pastor Ayres’ dynamic and diligent teaching of Biblical principles is uncompromising and passionate while being encouraging and uplifting. A great portion of his ministry is spent motivating and inspiring people to spend time in the presence of the Lord through prayer and the Word, thereby guiding them to discover God’s destiny for their lives. Along with his teaching, he writes music for the praise and worship team and leads with a Psalmist’s anointing, with words of knowledge and prophecy being a frequent part of the meetings.
In 1989, his first published song was featured at the Presidential Prayer Breakfast, and in 1994 he released his debut album, In His Presence, which has ministered too many around the world. Since then In His Presence church has released two albums: “In His Presence One Worship: Volume 1” (2010) and “In His Presence One Worship: Volume 2” (2011) which released at #6 on the Billboard Charts for Christian Albums and is preparing to release its third album before the end of this year. Each album features several songs written and performed by Pastor Ayres.
Pastor Ayres was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, moving to Southern California in 1977. He and his wife, Desiree, were married in 1983 and currently reside in Los Angeles, California.
Pastor Mel Ayres has a vision of championing the cause of the local church by affecting our community, our nation, and our world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to honor God's Word and leading of the Holy Spirit, Develop a culture of bold Christ centered, Spirit Filled, servant leaders devoted to winning souls resulting in personal and global evangelism. To build a church the un-churched would love to come to, and plant at least seven churches in our city.
